Hair Transplant Finance: What It Costs To Pay Monthly
Cost is the single biggest thing that stops people going ahead with a hair transplant, and for most it is not that they cannot afford it, it is that they cannot afford it all at once. Paying monthly is how the majority of procedures are actually paid for.
What you are paying for
Most hair transplants cost between £3,000 and £7,000. The figure is set by how many grafts you need, which is why nobody can give you an accurate price over the phone. It comes out of the assessment.
Smaller procedures cost less because they need fewer grafts. An eyebrow transplant, for instance, sits at the lower end of the price list, because it needs a few hundred grafts rather than a few thousand. Non-surgical treatment is a different proposition again, and costs a fraction of surgery.
How paying monthly works
- You have a free assessment first, so you know the actual price rather than a range
- A deposit reserves your procedure date
- The balance is spread over monthly payments
- The quote you are given after your assessment is the price you pay, and it includes your aftercare and products
We go through the payment options that are available to you, including the length of the agreement and any interest, at your assessment, once we know the actual price. All finance is subject to status and affordability, and treatment is subject to medical suitability. Neither is a formality: we turn people down for both.
Does paying monthly change anything about the treatment?
No. The procedure, the surgeon, the aftercare and the written guarantee are identical whether you pay in one go or monthly. There is no cheaper tier and no different standard of service, and it makes no difference to how your case is planned.

Should price be the deciding factor?
It should be a factor, but it is a poor way to choose a clinic. A very low quote usually means something has been cut, and the things that get cut are the ones you cannot see on the day: who is actually performing the surgery, whether the facility is regulated, what aftercare is included, and whether there is a written guarantee behind it.
Before comparing prices, it is worth checking that any clinic you are considering is registered with the Care Quality Commission. You can look any clinic up on the CQC register yourself in a couple of minutes, free.
Is surgery even the right answer?
That is a separate question from how you pay for it, and worth settling first. Around 40% of the people we assess turn out to be suitable for a hair transplant. For the rest, non-surgical treatment is often the better route, and for some people the honest answer is that nothing will give them the result they want.
We would rather tell you that than sign you up to a long agreement for a procedure that was never going to work.
