David Beckhams Beard Transplant

David Beckham, arguably one of the most stylish men in the world, has opted for a beard transplant

As we are a generation who are all about our self-image, men have also become just a conscious as woman when it comes to looks and following the latest trend. The newest trend for men is to have facial hair for a more ‘rugged’ look. This is shown by many male celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, Ben Affleck and Scott Disick who have been sporting the ‘full’ beard look. Because of this new fashion, many men are now growing their facial hair to achieve this more masculine look.

However, some celebrities such as David Beckham have gone the extra mile and have had a ‘beard transplant’. Now 45% of men are who are naturally trying to achieve this look have found that their beards are patchy or that they are unable to get the ‘full’ look and have also gone down the ‘beard transplant’ route.

David Beckham admired for his facial hair.

Many women now say that men with facial hair are more attractive than clean shaven men, when previously facial hair was seen as unattractive. 53% off men now say that they feel more attractive to women when they have facial hair. Because of this, the demand for ‘beard transplants’ in the UK has increased over the past six years from 4,500 in 2012 to now over 6,000. The number of beard transplants performed has risen from being just 1.5 per cent of all hair restoration procedures undertaken internationally in 2012 to 3.7 per cent in 2014. This is due to a change of fashion from celebrities and other men wanting to follow to them.

Beard transplants are also used to cover up any Trauma, Scarring from surgery and Radiation.

The transplant procedure is carried out by taking a strip of hair from the back of the scalp and transplanted into patches of thinner areas of the beard and sideburns. A beard transplant is more challenging than a normal hair transplant and this is because there are a lot more sensory nerves on the face than there are on the scalp. This procedure takes roughly a day to do and costs roughly £3,000 but is well worth the time and money when you have achieved the ‘full bearded’ look.

People who have undergone this procedure have found that the results have been fantastic and well worth it! There are many reasons why men go ahead with the transplant; the main reason is that people are a lot more conscious of looks and a patchy beard isn’t a good look. Men also want to follow the latest trends and a full beard is the look to have now. It has also been found that woman is more likely to find a man with facial hair more attractive than a man that has a clean shaven face. This makes many men lack self-esteem which drives them to make the decision to get a beard transplant. If you need any further information please contact us here
