About 4 million people each year face the reality that their eyebrow hair is thinning. It tends to happen with age but there can be many reasons for why we lose part or all of our eyebrow hair; stress, anxiety, hormones. As a result bald spots appear in the brows. It may come as a surprise, but anyone can have “bald spots” in their eyebrows. Eyebrow hair loss does not gender discriminate. While the eyebrow hair transplant is a common procedure with women, more and more men are having them.

For many women, drawing on their eyebrows becomes a burdensome morning ritual. Hair loss is a confidence killer regardless if it’s your receding hairline or your disappearing or non-existent eyebrows which is why people turn to different forms of eyebrow restoration. There are semi permanent solutions in the market like micro-blading that do create a thicker look but nothing gives you the realness of thick brows like a transplant. When eyebrow hair loss becomes a beauty flaw, eyebrow transplants are the most natural, low maintenance solution available to both women and men.

    Eyebrow Transplants Aftercare

The most common cause of hair loss in eyebrows is over-plucking thanks to a past fashion trend that no one was aware would cause permanent damage. However, over a period of time, the constant plucking damages the hair follicle creating scar tissue and loss of hair regrowth. Another popular cause is the unfortunate side effect of the ageing process. While some patients are looking to have eyebrow transplant surgery just to enhance their facial features, others are seeking corrections for partial or complete loss of eyebrow hairs caused by old accidents, injuries, burns or medical treatments like chemotherapy. Whatever the reason for needing eyebrow restoration it is a quick procedure and will help get your confidence back on track by redefining your facial features.

    Success Rate

Typically the success rate is around 90% as the sites made for eyebrow grafts aren’t as deep as those for normal hair transplantation. You must be very careful in the first week following surgery not to touch your face excessively.

    Genetics

If you have completely lost your eyebrow hair or it happened suddenly we recommend going to your GP for blood tests first. If all clear then we can transplant, there may be underlying health conditions we need to rule out first.

    Cost

The cost for an eyebrow transplant is on the lower end of the price list as it doesn’t tend to require a lot of grafts. However, there is a large amount of skill involved in getting the angle and shape to an eyebrow so prices can be from £62 per month.

    Treatment Time

As there is a lot of skill involved it can be time-consuming, also like with the cost it depends on how many bald spots or if it is total eyebrow reconstruction. Roughly an eyebrow transplant takes 4 to 5 hours and recovery 10 days.

What Are The Benefits Of An Eyebrow Transplant

Is it more painful than a hair transplant?

It is slightly more painful as the anaesthetic is going into your forehead rather than your scalp and the skin is thinner. From previous patients, we have been told it is more painful than botox but less painful than lip fillers! The average pain score for a hair transplant is 3 whereas for an eyebrow transplant it is 5 out of 10.

    Is there different aftercare?

Yes, the aftercare is different. If anything it is easier than for a hair transplant but your patient coordinator will be on hand every step of the way to answer your questions on this. You also get a personalised timetable to help tell you what to do after surgery.

Do I have to have FUT?

For eyebrow transplants, you can have FUT or FUE. It is a personal preference. The consultant will recommend the best for you at your consultation. You can have a transplant after micro-blading also if you are worried you can’t have both, the transplant would just create texture over the shape you already have.

Does the hair grow like eyebrow hair if it's taken from the head?

Not to start with, we have to train the hairs to grow like eyebrow hairs. The hairs will need trimming to start with, it takes a few months for the hairs to gain memory and eventually they do stop growing like normal hairs. You will also need to train them to grow in the direction you want by brushing with a small tool provided upon discharge.

How long does it take to heal?

Eyebrow transplants heal remarkably quick. It takes around 4-5 days for scabbing to come off and by 7 days it looks pretty much back to normal. The hairs will be quite coarse and stubbly to start with but this changes in the first 6 months.

    Pricing And Finance Options

We know the cost of a hair transplant can be daunting. We offer regular promotions to customers that have been for consultations, you just have to attend one to be in the with a chance of hearing about them.

Another way to pay is to pay in monthly instalments; you can spread the cost over 12 to 60 months. The payments range from £50 to £200 per month, depending on the amount you want to pay and how quickly you want the agreement to finish. If you chose this option after your consultation one of our advisors will talk you through the steps and help you pick the plan best for you.
